Josée Lavoie
PhD, FCCMG
Dr. Lavoie is a Fellow of the CCMG, in the specialty of Cytogenetics, since 2006 and serves as Scientific Director of the Clinical
Cytogenetics Laboratory at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC). The MUHC Cytogenetics Laboratory is part of the
integrated Core Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory and is a full-service laboratory, offering prenatal, postnatal constitutional and
oncology conventional and molecular cytogenetic testing.
She is also appointed as assistant professor in the Department of Pathology at McGill University, and as associate member in the
Department of Human Genetics. Currently, she is the co-director of the McGill CCMG training program, a co-chair of the Optical
Genome Mapping Community of Practice and acts as a member of the CCMG training committee. In the past, she has served on
the lab practice, the clinical practice and examination committees. Dr. Lavoie is very grateful for the opportunities that these roles have given her,
to learn as well as collaborate with extremely knowledgeable individuals.
