Oana Caluseriu
MD, FRCPC, FCCMG
Dr. Caluseriu practices primarily in the areas of pediatric genetics and prenatal diagnosis at the Stollery Children’s and Royal Alexandra Hospitals in Edmonton. Her research interest is focused around understanding the molecular basis of rare genetic disorders. A native of Romania, Dr. Caluseriu speaks four languages. She studied Medical Genetics at the Catholic University in Rome, and then, in 2001, followed that with a research Fellowship at the University of Toronto, completed a RCPSC residency in Medical Genetics at the University of Calgary and a CIHR Fellowship in Maternal and Child Health at the same center before joining the University of Alberta in 2012. Through her diverse background and expertise, she would like to represent the membership in the Board of Directors to help advance the impact of genetics in contemporary medicine and medical education, promote innovative delivery of services in the genomic era, and potentially enhance Canada’s presence as a global partner in the field.
