This award is named after Dr. John L. Hamerton (1929-2006) who, in addition to being a founding member of the CCMG, assisted the College time and time again as chair of numerous standing and ad hoc committees, and providing advice to the Board of Directors throughout his many years as a distinguished member of the College. The John L. Hamerton Service Award is conferred in recognition of diligently rendered services to the CCMG over a sustained period of time, allowing the development and the maintenance of the tradition of excellence of the Canadian College of Medical Geneticists. The 2018 John L. Hamerton Service Award will be presented at lunch on Monday, June 11 to Dr. Gail Graham, in recognition of her many and significant contributions to the business of the CCMG. Not only does Dr. Graham get involved in CCMG activities, she is reliable and effective in getting things done. The CCMG has benefitted and continues to benefit from Dr. Graham’s service to the College and we are grateful that she is so committed to our organization.
