The Opportunity
Peterborough Regional Health Centre is looking for a Division Lead Geneticist to join our team. Our Genetics Program offers a diverse clinical practice in medical genetics across all age ranges. If you were to join us you would work alongside a great team of experienced genetic counsellors, a genetics assistant, supportive clerical staff and a strong leadership team. As a Division Lead Geneticist, you will provide oversight for the clinical practice of the genetic counsellors.

Genetics services at PRHC includes an outpatient clinic in the areas of prenatal, cancer and general (pediatric and adult) genetics cases. There are also opportunities for inpatient consultations. We offer a highly competitive compensation package and flexible working arrangements including in person and virtual care opportunities. PRHC is affiliated with the Queens Medical Program.

The role is split with 80% allocated to clinical responsibilities and 20% to non-clinical responsibilities including leadership and program development and advancement.

Position Qualifications
• Currently licensed with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario or eligible to obtain license.
• Fellow Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Medical Genetics.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with physicians, genetic counsellors, genetic assistant, staff, patients, directors, managers, and the community as required.
• Eligible for staff privileges at PRHC.
• Evidence of excellent leadership skills.
• Evidence of ongoing continued medical education.
• Demonstrated interest in patient safety and quality improvement.
• Able to work with OTN and virtual care.
• Support the teaching of Residents, Clerks and Medical Students.
