The CCMG Annual Meeting is a unique gathering that draws participants from academic and community medical centers who share a common interest in education and advocating for best practices in clinical and laboratory genetics. Through presentations, dialogues, educational workshops, and engagement with industry partners, the event propels forward clinical practice, scientific advancements, and excellence across all aspects of genetics in Canada. Additionally, it fosters an environment of collaboration and education.
Objectives:
At the end of this year’s meeting, participants will be able to:
- Develop an understanding of the rationale for sharing genomic and health data for enhancing patient care.
- Evaluate the ethical and legal implications stemming from human genomic research and its clinical implications.
- Identify new advances in genomics that are being used to better interpret the cancer genome and broaden therapeutic choices for rare childhood cancers.
- Recognize key developments in the genetic management of inherited bleeding disorders.
- Discuss the role of genetics in the clinical management of somatic and hereditary hematological malignancies.
