Welcome Reception and Keynote

Join us for food and drink prior to our keynote address from Dr. Heidi Rehm to kick-off the evening! Dr. Rehm session details: Supporting genomics in research and medicine requires infrastructure, including standards, knowledgebases and global data sharing, as well as a rich interface between research and clinical care as new discoveries are made. This talk will present community efforts in knowledge curation within the Clinical Genome Resource, novel gene discovery in rare disease and standards development and data sharing efforts in clinical genomics.

Following our Keynote lecture on Sunday June 16, delegates will get a taste of St. John’s with a Rally in the Alley!

St. John’s has more bars and pubs per capita than any other city in Canada and most of them are located on the infamous George Street. This evening attendees will get the opportunity to experience the famous nightlife of downtown St. John’s including organized activities that feature local entertainment and cultural experiences in each venue. We finish the night all together with a live dance band.

Celebrate our esteemed award winners for 2023 and thank out outgoing board members.

Our Banquet on Tuesday June 18th will include a performance from the Spirit of Newfoundland. A showcase of eight musicians providing medleys of Newfoundland & Labrador music, humorous dialogue and stories, and audience participation. You may even be “Screeched In”!
