Dr. Sandra Sirrs is a specialist in adult inherited metabolic diseases and clinical professor in the Division of Endocrinology at the University of British Columbia.  She was the founder of the Adult Metabolic Diseases clinic in Vancouver, the first free-standing clinic for adults with inherited metabolic diseases in North America.  More recently, she has served as an advisor to the federal and provincial governments, Health Canada, CDA and the WHO on various projects related real world data and  drugs for rare diseases.  She was the medical advisor to Health Canada during the development phase of the National strategy for drugs for rare diseases and serves on the advisory group for that ongoing initiative. 

Dr. Ari Morgenthau is an endocrinologist with additional training in clinical genetics, practicing at University Health Network in Toronto. He is a member of both the Division of Endocrinology and the Division of Clinical Genomics, and leads the Endocrine Genetics Clinic within the Fred A. Litwin Family Centre in Genetic Medicine. He collaborates closely with the Inherited Metabolic Disorders (IMD) Clinic to advance care for patients with endocrine and metabolic conditions. Dr. Morgenthau completed his BSc at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University), MSc at the University of Calgary, MD at New York Medical College, and Internal Medicine residency at Dalhousie University. He completed his Adult Endocrinology Residency and Advanced Genetics and Genomics Fellowship at the University of Toronto. He also holds a graduate certificate in Genomic Counseling and Variant Interpretation from the University of British Columbia. His clinical and research interests focus on integrating genomic medicine into endocrine care, with particular emphasis on genetic endocrine disorders and endocrinopathies in inherited metabolic diseases. He is an investigator with OurGENEs and serves on the Continuing Professional Development Committee of the Canadian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism.
