CCMG Training, Credentials and Examinations

As part of setting educational standards for medical genetics specialists in Canada, the CCMG develops and publishes specialty-training guidelines, associated training forms and resources, evaluates the credentials of all individuals seeking certification and admission to the college, as well as administers examinations in each of the following specialties:

  • Genetic and Genomic Diagnostics (i.e., combined Molecular Genetics and Cytogenetics training)*

  • Laboratory Biochemical Genetics

  • Clinical Biochemical Genetics

  • Clinical Genetics (examinations offered through the RCPSC)

*NOTE: individual Molecular Genetics and Cytogenetics examinations will still be offered up during the 2024 and 2026 examination cycles.
